Air Conditioning Installation in Whitby

Mitsubishi, Daikin and Fujitsu systems that keep you cool in summer and heat your home efficiently in winter, installed by our qualified engineers.

Modern air conditioning does far more than cool a room. Today’s systems are air-to-air heat pumps, so the same unit that keeps you comfortable on a hot summer’s day also heats your home efficiently through the winter. ALPS Electrical installs Mitsubishi, Daikin and Fujitsu systems for homes and businesses in Whitby. As a family-run, NAPIT-approved company based in Yarm, we bring the same care to every air conditioning installation that we do to our solar, battery and EV charger work.

Air Conditioning for Whitby Homes and Businesses

Homes in Whitby include stone cottages, Victorian town houses, and newer homes on the edge of town, and we fit systems in bedrooms, home offices, conservatories, loft conversions and living rooms.

Every system we install is an air-to-air heat pump, so it earns its keep through the winter as well as the summer. We install across the town, Sleights, Ruswarp, Robin Hood’s Bay, Briggswath, Hawsker and the surrounding villages. Coastal homes get outdoor units and fixings suited to salt air.

Quick answer

How much does air conditioning cost to install in the UK?
A single-room Fujitsu split system costs around £2,200 installed. A two-room multi-split system is around £4,500, three rooms around £6,000, and four rooms around £8,000. Prices include the indoor and outdoor units, pipework, electrical connection, installation and commissioning. Because our systems heat as well as cool, home installations currently qualify for 0% VAT until 31 March 2027.

Heating and Cooling in One System

An air conditioning system moves heat rather than creating it. In summer, it draws warmth out of your room and releases it outside. In winter, it works in reverse, extracting heat from the outside air, even on cold days, and bringing it indoors.

Because the system moves heat instead of generating it, it’s highly efficient. A modern unit can deliver several units of heat for every unit of electricity it uses, which makes it one of the most cost-effective ways to heat individual rooms. You get year-round comfort from a single, quiet, wall-mounted unit, controlled from a remote or your smartphone.

Types of Systems

Single split systems

One indoor unit connected to one outdoor unit, ideal for heating and cooling a single bedroom, living room, conservatory or home office.

Multi-split systems

Several indoor units run from one outdoor unit, so you can heat and cool multiple rooms, each set to its own temperature, with only one unit outside.

Multi-split air conditioning across three roomsA house cut away to show a bedroom at 18 degrees, a home office at 20 degrees and a living room at 21 degrees, each with its own indoor unit, all piped to one outdoor unit outside. 16°C 18°C 17°C

Smart Control, Whatever the Season

Switch between heating and cooling at the touch of a button, or let the system change automatically to hold your chosen temperature. With smartphone app control, you can warm your home before you get back on a winter’s evening or cool your bedroom before bedtime on a summer’s night. Timers and individual room settings mean you only use energy where and when you need it.

We’re a family-run business based in Yarm, with more than 500 five-star reviews across Google and Checkatrade for our solar, battery and electrical work. Air conditioning is the newest addition to our services, and we bring exactly the same standards to it: quality workmanship, transparent pricing and a team that treats your property with respect.

We install air conditioning from Mitsubishi and Fujitsu, two of the most trusted names in the industry, and every system we fit heats as well as cools. That makes it an efficient way to stay warm in winter as well as comfortable in summer. Every installation is carried out by our own team, never subcontracted. And we’re honest: we’ll size each unit to the room it’s going in, so you’re not paying for more capacity than you need or ending up with a unit that struggles on the hottest and coldest days.

Whether you want a single unit for a bedroom, home office or conservatory, a multi-room system for your whole home, or climate control for an office, shop or salon, we plan every installation around your space, your needs and your budget. Because we’re also solar and battery specialists, we can show you how to run your air conditioning on your own solar power, which cuts your running costs even further.
