About the Sigenergy SigenStor

The Sigenergy SigenStor is an all-in-one home energy system — a solar inverter, a modular battery, optional integrated EV charging and whole-home backup in a single stacked unit, managed by one controller and the mySigen app. It is modular, so you start with the capacity you need and add 6 and 9 kWh battery modules as your usage grows, and it supports single- and three-phase supplies natively.

Modular Battery — Start Right, Grow Later

The SigenStor battery is built from stackable 6kWh and 9kWh modules, which can be mixed in the same stack, so a single stack can scale from 6kWh up to 54kWh. You buy the capacity that matches your usage now and expand later without replacing the inverter or starting again. For a household that expects to add an EV or a heat pump in the next few years, that headroom and ease of adding more is a real advantage to the Sigenstor.

Integrated EV Charging

The SigenStor supports integrated EV charging through an optional DC module (rated 12.5 kW or 25 kW) that draws directly from your solar and battery for faster charging with fewer conversion losses, and Sigenergy also offer a separate AC EV charger (around 7–22 kW). Whether either is worth it depends on your car, you’re driving and your budget, and more importantly the location of the stack in relation to where you need to charge your vehicle, but we’ll talk it through honestly at survey.

Whole-Home Backup and Smart Energy Management

With the Sigen Gateway, the SigenStor can provide whole-home backup on both single and three-phase supplies, switching over near-instantly when the grid drops so your home keeps running. The mySigen app gives you near-real-time visibility of solar generation, home use, battery level and grid flow, and the system works with time-of-use tariffs such as Octopus Agile, Flux and Go to charge when electricity is cheapest to buy and discharge when the export payments are higher making the system work harder for you without you having to do a thing.

Consett, County Durham: 14.25kW solar with 36kWh Sigenergy SigenStor storage and full home backup

This customer originally wanted a Tesla Powerwall 3. But he also wanted solar panels on four different roof faces, each facing a different direction, and every roof face needs its own solar input on the inverter (known as an MPPT) to perform at its best. The Powerwall 3 has three, while the Sigenergy system has four, so we recommended Sigenergy to get the most from every panel.

We installed 14.25kW of solar and 36kWh of Sigenergy SigenStor battery storage with full home backup. We also worked with Northern Powergrid on the grid application and secured a better outcome for the customer.

Here we carried out two solar surveys in Blythe, Northumberland, and Consett, County Durham. One customer wanted the Tesla Powerwall 3 and the other wanted the Sigenergy Sigenstor.
